Roupen Najarian’s «Beyond Color» solo exhibition

20 August 2018

09.10.2017 – 09.02.2018

Komitas Museum-Institute presents Roupen Najarian’s «Beyond Color» solo exhibition.

The “Beyond Color” exhibition includes a series of drawings created during the most recent creative years of Roupen (1990-2015). Roupen’s drawings are distinguished by their original style. Through his unique approach to describing reality, by limning the world with a new perspective through the instrument utilized, the simple pencil, the artist presents his drawings as complete works of art.

Roupen Najarian lives and works in Paris. He received his primary art education in Beirut (Interior Design) and moved to Paris to continue his studies specializing in Painting and Mural Art. He also holds a diploma in Art History. Roupen received the Henri Lehmann Painting Prize awarded by the Institut de France. For many years, he has worked in these fields and created many works in France, the Persian Gulf countries, Singapore, and Brunei. With his watercolors, oil paintings, and drawings, he has participated in group and solo exhibitions in various European cities. Since 1990, Roupen has focused on drawings.
In the framework of the exhibition “Beyond Color” a catalogue has been published containing essays by Marc Nichanian, Chakè Matossian, and Clélia Nau.

Curator: Nairi Khatchadourian

The exhibition is open everyday except from wednesday from October 9th to February 9th.
