Hasmik Torosyan

soprano. Torosyan was born in Yerevan. She graduated from the Romanos Melikyan Musical College (class of T. Hambartsumyan) in 2004. In 2010 she graduated from the Komitas State Conservatory (class of Prof. G. Geghamyan). In 2008 she won the First Prize and the gold medal in the Republic competition after G. Gasparyan. In 2009 she won the President’s Prize for Young Singers (Armenia). In 2010 she won the first prize in the “Bella Voce” International Music Competition (Moscow) and was the finalist of the 6th Seoul International Music Competition (Seoul) in 2010. In 2011 she won the first prize in “Musica Sacra” International Music Competition (Rome). Since 2011 she has been working at the A. Spendiaryan Armenian National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. In 2012 she was invited to sing Nedda in Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” (Northern Lights Music Festival, Minnessota). In 2013 Hasmik Torosyan made her debut at the Glyndebourne Opera House. She was invited to sing Norina from “Don Pascuale” for the 2013 Glyndebourne Festival season and Adina from “L`elisir d`amore” for the Glyndebourne Tour in 2013. In 2014 Hasmik Torosyan was invited to study in the Accademia Rossiniana directed by Maestro A. Zedda. Hasmik Torosyan made her Italian debut in the Rossini Opera House with the role of Corina from “Il Viagio a Reims” G. Rossini. In 2015 Hasmik Torosyan was invited to New Zealand to sing Adina in L’Elisir d’amore in the “Festival Opera”. In 2015 she was invited to sing Lizetta in ROF (Rossini Opera Festival, Pesaro – Italy) in the opera “La Gazzetta” of Rossini (cond. Enrique Mazzolla). In 2015 Torosyan made her debut with the National Orchestra of Paris (cond. Michail Jurowski), with Marfa in “Tsar’s Bride” N. Rimsky-Korsakov. In 2015-2016 she made her debut in the Flemish Opera House (Antwerp, Gent – Belgium) with the role of Musetta in “La Boheme” and Illia in “Idomeneo”.
Her future plans include engaging with the Flemish Opera House for the role of Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “Magic Flute”, engaging with the theater “Comunale di Bologna” for the role of Fiorilla in Rossini’s “Il Turco in Italia” and engaging with the National Orchestra of Paris for the role of Clorinda in Rossini’s “La Cenerontola” in the Theater of Champs Elysees. She also cooperates with Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (cond. E. Topchyan). Hasmik Torosyan has attended master classes with the worldwide known singers such as Grace Bumbry, Teresa Berganza, Mirella Freni, Juan Diego Florez. She has performed in several concert projects in many foreign countries such as France, Germany, Austria, Finland, Great Britain, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Lebanon, UAE, and Turkey.
